Pfizer believes that all individuals deserve access to quality health care and the opportunity to lead healthy lives. We combine creative commercial strategies with philanthropic approaches to create a sustainable and meaningful impact on global health. In 2016, we made significant strides in advancing this goal, including:
- Delivering the 250 millionth dose of the company’s pneumococcal vaccine to GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, which provided the vaccines to infants in 45 lower-income nations.
- Donating more than 600 million doses of an antibiotic for the treatment of trachoma, theworld’s leading infectious cause of blindness, since a partnership with the International Trachoma Initiative (ITI) was formed in 1998. In 2016 alone, Pfizer donated and shipped more than 120 million doses.
- Enhancing Pfizer RxPathways®, which empowers patients in need by connecting them to assistance programs so they can get access to Pfizer medicines prescribed by their doctor.
