Providing Healthy Starts

Sanofi Pasteur has a long history of supporting nonprofits that offer local children healthy beginnings, such as Pocono Alliance and its Healthy Start Early Childhood Screening program. This free program, funded by both Sanofi Pasteur philanthropic support and the company-spearheaded Pocono Mountains Community Fundraiser, provides early detection of a child’s vision, hearing, speech, and motor skill impairments, as well as any social, emotional, or developmental issues. Those screening results are obtained in just 30 minutes. Provided by partnering organizations like Center for Vision Loss, they invaluably inform and prepare the child’s parents and caregivers. According to Pocono Alliance’s Executive Director Michael Tukeva, Sanofi Pasteur’s support, along with other donations, will assist the nonprofit in meeting its goal for the year: to provide a total of 2,000 screenings that will better equip Monroe County children to reach their full potential in school.
