On May 23, 2018, William Demchak, chairman, president and CEO of PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., received the 2018 A. Leon Higginbotham Corporate Leadership Award at the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law’s Leadership Award Dinner.
Named in honor of Judge A. Leon Higginbotham, Jr., a pioneering civil rights advocate, author and federal appeals court judge, the Corporate Leadership Award recognizes exemplary corporate leadership in promoting diversity and equal opportunity in the workplace.
“On behalf of PNC and its 53,000 employees, I am both proud and honored to receive the Higginbotham Award,” Demchak said. “At PNC, our commitment to diversity and inclusion is one of the defining qualities of our corporate culture and of how we engage with our customers and communities. It is at the heart of our talent and team-building philosophy, and it comes to life each day through PNC Grow Up Great, our $350 million effort to create greater access to high-quality early childhood education for every child in every community where we do business.
