SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 29, 2018 /3BL Media/ - Planet Water Foundation, a leading non-profit organization that addresses global water poverty by delivering clean water access and hygiene education programs and Xylem (XYL), a leading global water technology company committed to developing innovative technology solutions to the world’s water challenges, have devised a unique application for Xylem’s FlowJet advanced pumping technology to provide clean water access in homes located in some of the world’s most impoverished communities.

The new solution uses Xylem’s FlowJet low-pressure pump to transfer source water from holding containers located next to homes into Planet Water’s 3-stage ultrafiltration technology that makes it safe to drink by removing bacteria, protozoa and harmful contaminants. The pump and filtration system is an integral part of Planet Water’s new AquaHome platform that has been tested and deployed in beneficiary homes in rural Siem Reap, Cambodia by Xylem Watermark volunteers. Watermark is Xylem’s corporate citizenship platform that works with select non-government organizations, like Planet Water Foundation, to provide and protect safe water resources in communities and educate people about water issues.

“Our relationship with Xylem extends well beyond their valuable foundation program partnership through Watermark. They are an innovation partner that actively develops and applies products that extend our capacity and reach for clean water solutions in some of the most remote locations and demanding environments,” said Nick Hill, Executive Chairman of Planet Water Foundation. “Xylem’s FlowJet is materially important to solving our specialized need for a rugged and reliable low-pressure pump for a new filtration system that brings clean water access to homes.”
