51 Central Ohio Nonprofits Receive Monetary, Product Grants
To raise awareness for the important role community gardens play in neighborhoods, ScottsMiracle-Gro joined other central Ohio partners––including the City of Columbus, Columbus Public Health, Franklin County, The Columbus Foundation, Franklin Park Conservatory and Botanical Gardens and Hidden Creek Landscaping––in an Earth Day celebration on the ScottsMiracle-Gro Community Garden Campus at Franklin Park Conservatory on April 12.
More than 51 nonprofit organizations received monetary funding and product donations to support community garden projects in neighborhoods throughout central Ohio. It was also a volunteer day for 60 ScottsMiracle-Gro associates who passed out 16,000+ bags of donated soil, mulch and fertilizer to the local garden groups.
The event was held ahead of Earth Day to provide gardeners with the supplies they need to spend Earth Day working in their gardens.
