Pfizer On Track to Reduce Water Withdrawal Globally
Today on World Water Day, we are reflecting on all the ways Pfizer is working to reduce and preserve water across our company, contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation.
In September 2015, the United Nations (UN) introduced its Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to transform our world and “leave no one behind” by 2030. Pfizer supports the SDGs and works to align its scientific focus and corporate objectives to improve global public health impact and sustainable development. This includes Goal 6 targets to increase water-use efficiency across all sectors and ensure sustainable withdrawals and supply of freshwater to address water scarcity.
This past year, Pfizer continued to support water reduction projects and remains well on track to achieve a five percent reduction in water withdrawal by the end of 2020, compared to the 2012 baseline.
