Pamela Gill Alabaster Tapped to Lead Sustainability at L’Oréal USA
(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) New York - March 15, 2011 - Frédéric Rozé, President and Chief Executive Officer of L'Oréal USA, announced the creation of an important new strategic function which aims to integrate and advance the company’s practices in the area of sustainability and has tapped Pamela Gill Alabaster to lead the charge.
In addition to advancing company and brand leadership in sustainability, in this capacity, Ms. Gill Alabaster will be charged with driving best practice strategies, policies and programs; elevating competencies among employees; collaborating with teams on programs that are consistent with the global framework and objectives; and developing goals and performance measurements in coordination with headquarters.
“L’Oréal has an ambition to excel in all areas of sustainability and be recognized among the most exemplary corporations of the 21st century,” said Rozé. “Pam’s prior leadership in brand marketing, corporate communications and public affairs provide her with the necessary experience and qualifications to lead our business operations in this newly created function.”
Ms. Gill Alabaster will to continue to lead the company’s state and federal government relations and contribute to the external corporate communications activities reporting to Rebecca Caruso, EVP of Corporate Communications & External Affairs.
An eighteen year veteran of the company, Ms. Gill Alabaster has held many leadership roles in the organization including Senior Vice President of Marketing, Lancôme, Vice President Marketing L’Oréal Paris, Vice President Corporate Media, and most recently Senior Vice President Corporate Communications & External Affairs.
Ms. Gill Alabaster earned her BA degree in Journalism from Pepperdine University, her MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and is currently a MS candidate for a degree in Sustainability Management at Columbia University.
