Overcoming barriers together: The 2017 Warriors to Summits team
Meet some of the members of the 2017 No Barriers Warriors to Summits team. The team recently completed their second training expedition together.
The 2017 No Barriers Warriors to Summits team is continuing to work together to overcome barriers. The team of veterans with disabilities completed their second expedition — climbing the Wind River Range in the Rocky Mountains in Wyoming — July 14-20.
No Barriers Warriors is one of three programs the nonprofit No Barriers USA provides. The Warriors program “improves the lives of veterans with disabilities through curriculum-based experiences in challenging environments,” according to the organization. This year’s team first trained in the Rocky Mountains in Colorado in June, and their final expedition will be Sept. 6-18 climbing Mount Brooks in Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska, highlighted by a summit attempt of Mount Brooks on Sept. 11.
