North Texas Women In Business Learn, Connect & Grow During Comerica Bank Women’s Business Symposium

DALLAS - Comerica Bank capped off the 2019 season of its national Women’s Business Symposium in Dallas/Fort Worth. More than 600 women in business from across North Texas joined for an afternoon of empowering conversations, learning and networking.

Highlighting the event was a lineup of powerful speakers and entrepreneurs that included Crystal Washington, Samantha Ettus and Girls Who Code Founder and CEO Reshma Saujani.

The Women’s Business Symposium also supports the bank’s mission of helping local communities. Proceeds from the Women’s Business Symposium totaled $27,000. Comerica President and CEO Curtis C. Farmer, Comerica Bank Senior Vice President, Director of Business Banking Amanda Mahaney and Senior Vice Present, Group Manager of Commercial Banking Margareth Aviles presented nonprofit partner Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support and its CEO Jan Langbein with the check to help further the organization’s mission of providing safety, shelter and support for women who have experienced domestic violence.  

Comerica Bank’s Women’s Initiative team designed the Women’s Business Symposium to provide an educational event for professionals and business owners to learn through presentations, connect with other women in business from various industries and grow through time spent networking. The event is now hosted in multiple markets, with events in Detroit, Southern California, Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth.

Approximately 2,500 women attended Comerica’s four Women’s Business Symposiums this year, and proceeds resulted in Comerica donating nearly $115,000 to local charities.
