Nominations Now Being Accepted for Microsoft Alumni Foundation’s Integral Fellows Awards
Help recognize nonprofit work of former Microsoft employees; up to three $25,000 grants available for award winners’ organizations
Bellevue, WA, March 11, 2013 /3BL Media/ - The Microsoft Alumni Foundation announced that it is now accepting nominations for its prestigious Integral Fellows Awards for 2013.
Anyone can submit a nomination; however, a nominee must be a former Microsoft employee. The nomination form can be found on the Microsoft Alumni Foundation website: http://www.microsoftalumni.org/Programs/integral_fellows.aspx
The awards program, now in its fifth year, recognizes a Microsoft alumnus who has made a meaningful difference in the lives of others by contributing his or her talent, time and resources to the nonprofit sector. The nominee’s impact may be local, regional, national or international.
Award winners in 2012 were:
- Mahnaz Javid of Mona Foundation - http://www.monafoundation.org/
- Allen Wilcox of VillageReach - http://villagereach.org/
- Jabe Blumenthal of Climate Solutions-http://climatesolutions.org/
The Integral Fellows program is more than just the opportunity for a $25,000 grant. According to Cliff Schmidt, President and Founder of Literacy Bridge, the program really opened doors for him. Schmidt, himself a 2010 Integral Fellows award winner, said his participation provided awareness he could not achieve on his own. "Immediately after receiving the MSAF Integral Fellows award, we were contacted by organizations like the Clinton Global Initiative and the Tech Awards. But it was MSAF that first identified our potential, providing an endorsement and exposure that was critical to the steps we’ve achieved since. MSAF accelerated our delivery of audio health and agriculture training to 20,000 of the poorest people in Ghana."
Up to three of the nominees will be named a 2013 Integral Fellow. Each award winner will receive an unrestricted $25,000 award to support the work of their nonprofit organization.
Winners will be announced at the Alumni Foundation’s annual celebration event, to be held this year on November 1.
Nominations will be accepted through April 2, 2013.
