New Partnership Between Black & Veatch and IBM Will Implement Artificial Intelligence for Remote Technology Monitoring
September 21, 2021 /3BL Media/ - Black & Veatch and IBM will collaborate on a new project to combine IBM’s Maximo Application Suite of software products with Black & Veatch’s expertise in real-time data analytics, using artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline data interpretation.
An article in Automation World details the new project, which aims to maximize productivity as companies move their workforces out of physical workspaces and into the digital realm. Though data is helpful, its often plentiful and complex. This partnership between Black & Veatch and IBM will work to demystify the information, helping end-users efficiently interpret the data they collect.
Black & Veatch will share information from its monitoring and diagnostic centers with end-users via IBM’s Maximo Application Suite. The Suite can then be used to analyze worker safety, predict necessary maintenance, perform inspections and more. Integration of AI into data interpretation processes allows for effective action-items to be gleaned much more quickly from collected information.
“Monitoring insights that combine AI and machine learning technology with deep industry expertise can help organizations make better sense of their data and use it to manage their assets better,” Kareem Yusuf, IBM general manager for AI applications and blockchain, told Automation World. “IBM and Black and Veatch are collaborating to deliver insights that can be applied to improve the performance of assets and extend their lifespans."
