Every two years, Nestlé awards the Creating Shared Value Prize to help scale up or replicate business-oriented initiatives that address challenges in nutrition, water or rural development. The competition is open to social and private enterprises as well as NGOs.

The call for entries for the 2016 Nestlé Creating Shared Value Prize is open until February 28, 2015. Applications will be reviewed between March and September, 2015, and the winners will be announced in 2016. Nestlé will invest financial and technical resources in the winning initiatives to help them achieve scale and financial sustainability. The winners will share a total of CHF 500,000 (approx. USD $540,000) in prize money.

The objective of the program is to identify innovative projects that have been tested as a pilot on small scale, have demonstrated high social and environmental impact, and need support to achieve commercial viability and scale. The 2016 Prize invites nominations from innovative programs in the areas of nutrition, water or rural development in any part of the world.
