NativeEnergy Announces Acquisition of Assets of SunOne Solutions
Expands capacity with sequestration projects for both voluntary and California cap-and-trade carbon markets
Burlington, Vt., Jan. 27, 2014 /3BL Media/ – NativeEnergy, Inc., a preeminent developer and retailer of carbon offset projects, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of substantially all of the business and assets of SunOne Solutions, known for its reputation as a leading developer of land-based carbon offset projects. Building on NativeEnergy’s history of developing renewable energy, farm-based, and clean water projects for corporate clients, the acquisition will significantly expand the company’s portfolio and pipeline for the voluntary and California compliance markets.
SunOne Solutions, previously named the top carbon aggregator by Point Carbon, developed an attractive portfolio of forestry and rangeland projects across the US, generating over 3 million carbon offsets from projects on 2.2 million acres. SunOne’s portfolio both sequesters carbon dioxide and provides other essential ecosystem services, like mitigating droughts and floods, preserving soils and grasslands, and protecting biodiversity.
