WALTHAM, MASS., September 28, 2017 /3BL Media/ – Once again, the three states across National Grid’s service area — Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and New York — are all ranked among the top ten for energy efficiency. The American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE) today released its 2017 State Energy Efficiency Scorecard:

  • Massachusetts ranks number one for the seventh year in a row;
  • Rhode Island moved up a slot from last year, now landing in third place;
  • New York stands in the seventh place on the list.

“This recognition demonstrates the commitment of our partners and our customers in the states we serve,” said Dean Seavers, president, National Grid US. “We’re proud to work together, alongside our communities, toward a clean energy future that leaves no one behind.”

The report names Rhode Island and Massachusetts as top states with utility-sector energy-efficiency programs and policies. Massachusetts and New York are also recognized as leaders in energy-efficient transportation policies for the second consecutive year. National Grid supports our communities in their energy efficiency needs, providing services that translate to huge savings for customers and reducing our collective carbon footprint.

In addition to efficiency efforts, National Grid works with the communities we serve to bring more clean energy to our Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New York customers.
