The last week to view the photographs from the frontlines of health, Beyond Barriers: Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia
This exhibition is part of AstraZeneca Canada’s corporate citizenship initiative called Frontline Health, which supports dedicated health professionals who work with Canada’s most vulnerable populations.
(3BLMedia/theCSRfeed) November 29, 2010 - Beyond Barriers: Photographs from the frontlines of health is ON DISPLAY at Dalhousie University until December 3rd on the Carleton Campus outside the Tupper Medical Building. Composed of photo essays and stories from award-winning Canadian journalists, the exhibit celebrates the courage, compassion and ingenuity of health practitioners who have dedicated themselves to working with our most vulnerable populations.
'Street Nurses' Take Healthcare to the Streets of Halifax, CanadaWhen health, social service and support services and clinics in Halifax saw their clients facing barriers to care they designed a new service to reach out to clients where they live. The result: a new way of delivering primary care to vulnerable populations. Mobile Outreach Street Health (MOSH) – taking it to the streets. Patti Melanson is the street nurse behind MOSH and will be speaking about her experiences at a special reception on Monday, June 14th. Patti’s story, and the innovative stories of many other practitioners from across Canada, are celebrated in Beyond Barriers: Photographs from the frontlines of health, on display at the Canadian Public Health Association’s Centenary conference.
