Kunming Pepsi Receives LEED Gold Certification
(3BL Media / theCSRfeed) November 30, 2011 - Last week, PepsiCo announced that Kunming Pepsi-Cola Beverage Company Limited (Kunming Pepsi), a local affiliate of PepsiCo Greater China Region (GCR), was awarded LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. Following in the footsteps of Chongqing Pepsi--Tianfu Beverage Company and Pepsi Beverage (Nanchang) Company, Kunming Pepsi is the third PepsiCo GCR bottling plant to be credited with this honour.
The LEED Gold certification recognizes leading environmental features applied in the new facility, including a properly-selected location, water- and energy-saving designs, efficient use of renewable energies and materials and improved quality of indoor environment. Compared with other factories that meet national environment standards and requirements, Kunming Pepsi’s new plant represents a 20 percent and 30 percent increase in water and energy efficiency, respectively.
