Congratulating our Project Manager of the Month for May 2021, Kim Bowyer
Disaster Recovery and Management
Project managers (PM) are the face of Tetra Tech to every client and are the people who ensure that our project work is done to the highest standards of quality and fiscal discipline. Tetra Tech CEO Dan Batrack honors those who work at the highest level of excellence with our PM of the Month award.
Kim leads Tetra Tech’s Disaster Recovery services in our Maitland, Florida, office. He joined Tetra Tech in 2005 as a part-time monitor responding to Hurricane Rita and grew to his current position as a PM. Over the course of his career at Tetra Tech, Kim has completed more than 90 projects, often managing multiple disaster response projects at a time. Kim graduated from Thomas Edison State University in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Kim led the development of a shelter for homeless community members. The project has provided shelter and security to unhoused residents while maintaining health and safety guidelines and social distancing. While completing this successful project, the team prevented the spread of the virus and created a safe, welcoming atmosphere by implementing increased safety and cleaning procedures.
After completing the COVID-19 shelter project, Kim managed the cleanup of the Surfside Beach condo collapse in Miami Dade County, Florida. Since his arrival, the County has expressed their appreciation for Kim’s expertise in leading this challenging project. Additionally, Kim is managing a project for the Virginia Department of Transportation, organizing the cleanup of more than 400,000 cubic yards of vegetative debris.
“Kim has greatly contributed to the success of Tetra Tech’s Disaster Recovery services over the years through his attention to detail and excellent client management skills,” said Jonathan Burgiel, head of our Disaster Recovery services. “Employees like Kim make Tetra Tech a go-to company in the disaster recovery field.”
Kim frequently receives positive feedback from both his clients and team members, successfully meeting client expectations while navigating rapid project turnaround times. During his career at Tetra Tech, Kim has approached his projects from a client-oriented mindset, following up before and after the project to ensure client satisfaction.
“I enjoy helping folks recover from disasters and getting a community back to some semblance of normal and look forward to continuing this work,” Kim said.
Join us in congratulating Kim on receiving the May 2021 PM of the Month award.
