KeyBank Foundation Provides $50,000 to the OneOrlando Fund to Aid Pulse Tragedy Response
Employee Donations will be Matched Dollar-for-Dollar
CLEVELAND, Ohio, June 16, 2016 /3BL Media/ — Today, KeyBank Foundation announced it will donate $50,000 to the OneOrlando Fund, announced on Monday by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, established to respond to the needs of the Orlando community after the Pulse nightclub tragedy.
Recently, forty-nine people were killed and 53 wounded in a massacre at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, Florida, marking the most deadly mass shooting in American history. The OneOrlando Fund will support the victims and families, the LGBTQ, Hispanic, and affected communities, and address underlying causes of this tragic event.
“The Pulse tragedy has touched the hearts and lives of everyone in the country. Together, we mourn with Orlando,” says Margot Copeland, chair and CEO, KeyBank Foundation. “We send our thoughts of healing and grace to the victims, their families, and all citizens of Orlando.”
Key encourages others to help by making a donation by visiting the OneOrlando website: http://www.oneorlando.org/. Donations from Key employees will be matched dollar-for-dollar by KeyBank Foundation.
“Hate-motivated violence has no place in our society,” said Copeland. “At Key, we believe in the strength of diversity, the power of inclusion, and that bigotry and hate will not win when our character is greater than the evil that bigotry and hatred create.”
