Just Business Is Better Business
NortonLifeLock named #21 on Forbes JUST 100
By Jaime Barclay, Director of Corporate Responsibility
Symantec (now NortonLifeLock Inc.) was named one of America’s Most JUST Companies for 2020, according to Forbes and JUST Capital. This milestone is especially exciting as we’ve risen from 77th in 2018 to the 21st most JUST company in the United States this year. This achievement is the result of consistent leadership and dedication to all of our stakeholders: our employees, customers, communities, the environment, and our shareholders.
The JUST Capital Rankings evaluates the 1,000 largest publicly traded U.S. companies on a range of factors, determined through a comprehensive survey on public attitudes toward corporate behavior. In 2019, JUST Capital surveyed 9,000 American respondents on issues like fair pay, ethical leadership, good benefits and work-life balance, customer treatment and privacy, community support, environmental impact, and delivering shareholder return.
According to Martin Whittaker, JUST Capital CEO, “America’s Most JUST Companies are measurably outperforming their peers on the key Issues Americans care about most: taking care of employees by paying a fair and living wage, providing good benefits, as well as equal opportunity and career development.”
After six years of surveying the American public, JUST Capital has learned that nearly four out of five people want to work for, buy from, and invest in JUST companies. While 2020 will be a transitional year for NortonLifeLock in many ways, we will continue to uphold our commitment to the tenets that placed us on the Most JUST list. We’re proud to be a company building long-term value for our employees, customers, and our communities.
“Being included in the top 25 Most JUST Companies is a momentous accomplishment for which our entire company can feel proud,” said Scott Taylor, Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary. “Our jump to the top of the list this year is a testament to how seriously we aim to meet the needs of our consumers and to generate better returns for our business and society in the process. Our new leadership at NortonLifeLock Inc. is excited to continue this legacy of trust building and commitment to corporate responsibility.”
