JetBlue’s Soar with Reading Visits New York with Singer/Songwriter Victoria Justice and Magic Tree House Author Mary Pope Osborne
Last week, actress and singer/songwriter Victoria Justice joined JetBlue and Random House Children’s Books at the New York Aquarium to kick-off the airline’s summer reading initiative, Soar with Reading. This award-winning program puts books into the hands of children in underserved communities.
As part of her role as an ambassador for JetBlue’s Soar With Reading for the second year, Justice shared her love for reading with kids from the community and read aloud to them from this year’s featured book, Magic Tree House #53: Shadow of the Shark, by best-selling author Mary Pope Osborne.
Osborne was also onsite to meet young readers, stamp copies of the book and watch Magic Tree House characters Jack and Annie come to life in a special performance.
Since 2011, JetBlue’s Soar with Reading has donated more than $1,250,000 worth of books to kids and communities in need. More information can be found at www.soarwithreading.com.
