IVECO Delivers Recycled Wood to Ansenuza National Park in Argentina
During the Sustainable Mobility Week, IVECO, a brand of CNH Industrial, used a CNG Tector to drive approximately 200 kilometers from Córdoba to the towns of Paquita and Altos de Chipión in order to deliver a donation of sustainable wood together with Natura International. The recycled wood came from boxes of parts and materials that are used at CNH Industrial’s factory in Córdoba. The site has created an ‘Ecological Island’, where carpenters craft pieces from recycled wood and in this way a large part of the plant’s waste is converted, for example, into wooden slats.
Ansenuza National Park will use the donated recycled wood for the park’s infrastructure with the aim of reducing the environmental impact in the area. The materials will be used for the construction of observation points for wildlife, building benches, fences and trail marking.
"We received a note from the NGO Natura International requesting the recycled wood. We were happy to support this initiative, especially since the Ansenuza National Park, is located close to our site. Participating in a project that has so many benefits for the conservation of natural ecosystems and the sustainable management of natural resources fills us with pride. At IVECO we are committed to sustainability and the circular economy," said Lorena Paola Eberhardt, Environment Coordinator of CNH Industrial in Argentina.
The truck selected for the delivery of the donated wood was the CNG Tector built in Córdoba, a CNG truck that reduces 90% nitrogen dioxide, 99% particulate matter and up to 95% carbon dioxide when using biomethane as fuel.
