Investing in Community – Virtual, and Home
By: Becky Woodworth, Social Media Senior Strategy Manager
Community is important to me – my neighbors in San Antonio, my colleagues at AT&T and the virtual community of AT&T customers with which I work – the AT&T Community Forums.
The AT&T Community Forums are a place where our customers answer their fellow customers’ product and service questions. They weigh in on everything from, “how much data have I used?” to “how do I sync my contacts?” Their easy-to-understand answers are searchable online, helping potentially thousands of customers.
The most respected community members providing the best answers earn the title of “ACE” after accepting the annual Award for Community Excellence. They live across the United States and Canada representing a variety of professions – seamstress, truck driver, student, etc. In 2015, the ACEs responded to questions from fellow customers more than 42,000 times.
To say thank you to these valuable community members, this year AT&T supported the causes they are passionate about. Fifty-five ACEs selected 5 charities in their communities to each receive a $5,000 contribution from AT&T. Those charities are Mesquite Animal Pawtners, Kentucky School for the Blind, Partnership Against Drug and Alcohol Abuse, Animal Defense League and Pets for Vets.
Thank you, ACEs, for not only investing in AT&T’s virtual community, but also supporting your local communities!
