On August 19, 1871, world-renowned aviation pioneer Orville Wright was born. Along with sibling Wilbur, the Wright Brothers invented and engineered the first motor-operated airplane. Thanks to their world-altering creation, President Franklin D. Roosevelt established August 19th as National Aviation Week.
