Ingersoll Rand Disaster Relief Update
The Ingersoll Rand crisis response team has now made contact with all Ingersoll Rand employees and all of its contractors in Puerto Rico. While the devastation that Hurricane Maria left in her path has impacted the entire island of Puerto Rico, the resolve and positivity portrayed by the people is amazing.
In the face of adversity, the teamwork and commitment demonstrated by the Thermo King team at the Arecibo manufacturing facility has been nothing short of inspirational. As the Puerto Rican infrastructure steadily improves, the Thermo King plant in Arecibo resumed production last week after sustaining limited damage from Hurricane Maria.
"I’m thrilled to report we are already back to pre-hurricane operating levels,” said Dane Taival, vice president and general manager, Transport Solutions North America. “This is truly a testament to the dedication of our team in Arecibo."
Standing together
Thermo King people in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Hastings, Nebraska, have taken up special collections of items for their Arecibo colleagues.
“It is in periods like these that I am reminded of why Transport Solutions is successful,” said Ray Pittard, president, Transport Solutions North America and EMEA. “During tough times, great teams become even better. They show strength and grit, and stand together to support, pray and contribute any way they can to help their fellow teammates and restore normalcy to everyday life and business.”
With the help of employees, the company, the Ingersoll Rand Foundation and partnerships with disaster relief organizations, the crisis response team has also been able to send food, water, generators, medical supplies, personal protective equipment and other critical humanitarian relief directly to the Thermo King Arecibo, and Trane San Juan and Ponce colleagues.
But they – as well as people affected by other recent natural disasters – face a long road of recovery. Continued support from all of us can make a difference for them.
