Industries Hiring the Most 2015 College Graduates

I recently came across a Forbes article by Susan Adams discussing what industries will hire the most 2015 college graduates. The article is interesting and definitely worth reading if you have the time, but I have summarized some of the key takeaways here for your convenience.

According to a survey conducted by Michigan State University’s College Employment Research Institute (CERI), the hiring of upcoming graduates is likely to increase by 16 percent. Phil Gardner, director of CERI, attributes much of this increase to pent-up hiring demand. The implication being that a number of employers have been putting off additional hiring until they can determine what direction the economy is heading in.

According to Mr. Gardner, the fastest growing industry is information services, which includes, but is not limited to telecommunications companies, motion pictures, broadcasting, and publishing. A large number of companies in this arena are either start-ups or have fewer than 500 employees.
