Inclusion Works — Opportunities for Those with Disabilities
JetBlue’s operations embody much of the change we want to see for people with disabilities. But the road is long, and we can’t do it alone.
Internally, we create job opportunities and promote inclusion through frameworks like the Reaching Blue Heights talent pipeline program, Disability Career Fairs, and Disability Mentoring Day (DMD). Out in the world, we show up and speak out.
In 2015, we ran an in-flight video feature on all flights to raise awareness about disability. In 2016, more than 100 crewmembers marched with the Henry Viscardi School in NYC’s Disability Pride Parade. We also volunteered at their Whiskey Flight fundraising event.
Nearly 1 in 5 Americans has a disability, and 10% of those are invisible disabilities. If more businesses tailored talent acquisition and customer services to these communities – imagine the possibilities.
