Hundreds of Executives to Gather in Arizona for Post-COP21 Forum
GreenBiz 16 attracts leaders from Fortune 1000 corporations, NGOs and Government
OAKLAND, Calif., January 5, 2016 /3BL Media/ — More than 700 sustainability executives are set to convene next month in Arizona to discuss the trends, tools and technologies needed to move their companies toward a more sustainable future, energized by the climate goals set last month by the Paris Agreement.
GreenBiz 16, February 23-25, in Scottsdale, Ariz., will bring together hundreds of leaders from the world's largest companies, sustainability nonprofits, academic institutions and government agencies. The event is convened by GreenBiz Group, The Sustainability Consortium and The Walton Sustainability Solutions Initiatives, a unit of the Julie Ann Wrigley Global Institute of Sustainability at Arizona State University.
The three-day conference takes place during the two-week-long Sustainability Solutions Festival produced by ASU.
GreenBiz 16 is framed by the ninth annual State of Green Business report, an award-winning assessment of how companies are addressing the world's biggest sustainability challenges. Released on February 2, the report also illuminates the most important topics and trends impacting sustainability professionals and their companies.
“This year’s event, on the heels of COP21, looms larger in importance, given the ambitious greenhouse gas-reduction targets that face us,” said Joel Makower, Chairman and Executive Editor of GreenBiz Group, and the event’s host. “Sustainability executives are primed to up their game, making ever bigger commitments. At GreenBiz 16 they’ll learn how their peers are taking on this challenge.”
New to this year’s event are six targeted program tracks, focusing on some of the key challenges and opportunities facing today’s sustainability executives:
- Design & the Circular Economy
- Purpose & Leadership
- Materiality & Metrics
- The New Energy Landscape
- Sustainable Supply Chains
