Happy National Walk to Work Day!
Happy National Walk to Work Day!

It’s official: spring has arrived. We can officially say goodbye to winter and hello to warmer temperatures, which means more time outside – and more time to exercise. These warmer temperatures make it perfect timing for today’s eighth annual National Walk to Work Day!
If you’re reading this, you’re probably already at your desk and most likely arrived there by your car. But, don’t worry, it’s not too late! You can hit the pavement on the way home, or even take a walk outside during your lunch break.
So, why should you bother? Not only can walking improve your health, and your mood, but you also are doing your part to remove cars from the road and improve the environment. Just making this small change can add up to make a huge impact.
At AT&T, many of our employees are making a commitment to Do One Thing (DOT), like reducing fuel usage by walking or biking to work to do their part to improve their health and their communities. In fact employees have removed more than 700 cars from the road and lost more than 40,000 pounds through making one small change in their life through DOT.
As just one example, Kristan Lepik, an ICU case worker in Pueblo, CO started a team DOT to encourage her colleagues to participate by getting out and walking. By making this commitment and sharing it with others, she is doing her part to build a healthier community.
Join me, Kristan and other employees across the company in celebrating National Walk to Work Day today. Let’s dust off those sneakers and get walking!
