Local Business and Members of the Community Come Together to Kick Off the New School Year
GREENSBORO, N.C., Sept. 6, 2012 / 3BL Media / PRNewswire/ -- For the fifth consecutive year, the local owners and operators of the Gunter CITGO Station in Greensboro celebrated the back-to-school season with its annual carnival event. On the afternoon of Aug. 27, the station transformed into a purple and white fairground to represent the community's school spirit. The carnival involved the entire community, including students, parents, teachers and local businesses and was one of the most successful in recent history.
"Each year, it is truly a joy to put on this event for our community and kids to both encourage excitement for the new school year and help families prepare their students with back to school supplies," said Leslie Gunter, co-owner of the Gunter CITGO. The carnival celebrated the arrival of the new semester with face painting, a bounce slide and bounce house, and back-to-school giveaways for children. Motorists were treated to fuel discounts and CITGO provided back-to-school gift bags filled with school supplies. Free pizza, white and purple slushies, donuts and entertainment were provided to students and teachers by Coca Cola, Hunt Brothers Pizza and Triad Inflatables.
