Global Pro Bono Takes Center Stage at the 22nd Annual Leadership Development Conference
Dow and JPMorgan Chase Join PYXERA Global for a Discussion on Experiential Learning
(WASHINGTON, D.C., June 9, 2016 /3BL Media/ – Redefine “learning by doing” with proven methodologies to accelerate leadership development and do real work in the field. Learning and Leading By Doing Real Work in the Field, at The Conference Board’s 22nd Annual Leadership Development Conference, will bring together companies that are pioneering new talent development models to retain talent longer and increase employee engagement.
Moderated by Amanda MacArthur, Vice President of Global Pro Bono and Engagement at PYXERA Global, Thursday’s discussion will feature John Kolmer, Global Manager of Leadership Development, The Dow Chemical Company and Eric Schroeder, Vice President & Employee Engagement Manager, Corporate Responsibility at JPMorgan Chase.
Participants will learn how these leading companies are implementing innovative leadership development strategies through the experiential learning practice, global pro bono.
“Employees are well-placed to consider business challenges from a unique perspective when they are on a pro bono assignment,’” said MacArthur in a recent New Global Citizen article. “Managers can spark new understanding of important markets by posing business-related questions to participants about their environment and experience.”
Learning and Leading By Doing Real Work in the Field will examine how companies align their leadership development and corporate citizenship functions. Today’s workforce is seeking opportunities to contribute meaningfully to their immediate and global communities. Companies that make this connection satisfy what many in today’s workforce are craving, while simultaneously building their leadership pipeline.
The 22nd Annual Leadership Development Conference entitled, The Future of Leadership Development in a Rapidly Changing World will dive into innovative talent development models from various companies who tradeoff between high tech and high touch. The conference will also discuss how these models align with human resource priorities, talent acquisition, and retention.
