Giving Tuesday Gives Customers a Chance To Support Charities While Checking Off Holiday Wish Lists
Qurate Retail rallies customers to support charity partners No Kid Hungry, Meals on Wheels, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and more throughout holiday season
November 29, 2022 /3BL Media/ - The holidays are synonymous with giving, which is why Qurate Retail GroupSM brands QVC®, HSN®, Ballard Designs®, Frontgate®, Garnet Hill® and Grandin Road® are rallying with customers to support several charity partners for Giving Tuesday on Nov. 29, a global day dedicated to giving back. Throughout the holiday season, customers will have the opportunity to meaningfully support several charities by shopping select items or specifying donation amounts, in addition to amplified corporate match donation opportunities on Giving Tuesday.
With the cost of food on the rise, organizations that feed the hungry need help more than ever. So QVC has teamed up for the second year in a row with No Kid Hungry1 and Meals on Wheels2 to help fight hunger among America’s most vulnerable populations – children and seniors, respectively. Now through December 23, when customers shop select items on-air, on QVC.com or in the QVC app, QVC will donate $1 to this effort from each unit sold, up to $5,000 per item. In addition, customers can donate directly to the organizations by searching “No Kid Hungry” or “Meals on Wheels America” at QVC.com, in the QVC app or via QVC’s Partners in Giving platform. On Giving Tuesday (Nov. 29) only, QVC will amplify customer support by matching their donations (up to $75,000 in total match) and donating 10% of gift card sales.
The QVC+ and HSN+ streaming experience has exclusively debuted “Mally’s Magical Christmas Trees,” which dropped today at midnight in support of Giving Tuesday. The special features three charities, Philabundance, Unite for HER and the Brandywine SPCA (all of which are local to QVC headquarters in West Chester, Pa), and each charity will receive a $10,000 donation from QVC. Hosted by celebrity makeup artist and creator of Mally color cosmetics Mally Roncal, Mally is known for making the season magical, and now she’s sprinkling her brand of positivity and holiday spirit on some magical Christmas trees. Viewers will join Mally at home for a tour of her forest of themed Christmas trees, which tells her family’s story. Channeling her inner Santa, Mally also decorated three personalized trees for each of the featured charities to enjoy an extra dose of Mally’s magic this season.
HSN, Ballard Designs, Frontgate, Garnet Hill and Grandin Road have all partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® this holiday season to support their mission in treating and defeating childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Donations help ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. This year marks HSN’s 18th year supporting St. Jude, and on Giving Tuesday only, the brand will amplify support by matching customer donations, up to $125,000 total match. Additional donation opportunities for St. Jude include:
- HSN: Customer donations will be collected from the call center through Dec. 24 and online through Dec. 31;
- Ballard Designs: Customer donations will be collected through online cart, the retail store and in catalog through Dec. 24;
- Frontgate: Customer donations will be collected through online cart, the retail store, call center and catalog through Dec. 28, with an in-store activation on Giving Tuesday.
- Grandin Road: Customer donations will be collected online and from the call center through Dec. 27.
- Garnet Hill: Customer donations will be collected through Dec. 20.
- In addition, Garnet Hill will also be donating 10% of sales of its Plush-Loft Blanket and Throw, up to $15,000 total, to Girls Who Code from Nov. 29 through Dec. 9.
