What makes your volunteer program so successful?

Our company culture. We have a commitment to volunteering at all our company and team events, which helps our employees get excited about volunteering.

We also have a great group of employees who are passionate about volunteering. They help set up opportunities in their local areas that keep the momentum of our program going.

What is the most unique aspect of your volunteer program?

Our virtual opportunities. About 75% of our employees work remotely and aren’t about to participate in on-site team events. Therefore, we are always trying to incorporate new virtual and technical volunteering opportunities, like getting employees clean out their pantries for donating food items via a virtual hangout.

We also help our employees use their technical skills to volunteer, from full pro bono to really small technical opportunities with nonprofits.

What recent accomplishment makes you proud?

Our company-wide day of service. It’s is always a high point of the year. We had 80% of our employees in five countries volunteer on the same day around the globe.

For months leading up to this day, there is a lot of behind-the-scenes planning. But it’s the highlight of most of our employees’ years. The number of hours and impact we can put together in one day in our local communities makes the months of planning worth it.
