At FareShare, we can’t do anything without the generosity of our supporters.
One such partner – the General Mills Foundation has been a vital supporter in helping FareShare to considerably scale up the amount of food we redistribute to charities and community groups throughout the UK.
“By supporting FareShare through our philanthropy, product donations and employee volunteerism, we are doing what we can to make a real difference in this issue that affects people and planet,” says Jonathan Bennett, external relations director, General Mills Northern Europe. “Our actions are aimed at ensuring the world’s good surplus food is used to nourish hungry people rather than going to landfills.”
General Mills also provides support through volunteering – using their corporate volunteering opportunities to help out in the warehouse and delivering food to charities at FareShare Regional Centres.
CEO of FareShare, Lindsay Boswell, said: “Our partnership redistributing surplus food and support with funding and volunteering from General Mills is an outstanding example of what can be achieved when everyone is focused on generating the greatest impact they can.”
To celebrate the partnership, we spoke to some of our amazing charity partners about the impact that receiving food from FareShare has made, as well as those who helped to make the partnership happen. Take a look here.
Thank you to General Mills for your ongoing support.
