General Mills Breaks Ground on Second Wind Project, Maverick Creek, to Offset 100% of Domestic Power
General Mills broke ground this week on the Maverick Creek Wind Project in Eden, Texas, in partnership with Kimberly-Clark, Renewable Energy Systems, Vestas, Algonquin Power & Utilities Corp. and members of the local government. Once it is operational in October 2020, Maverick Creek and our first wind farm, Cactus Flats (pictured) will offset 100% of the electricity used annually at our owned U.S. facilities. Wind energy is one way we’re getting closer to reaching our greenhouse gas emission reduction goals by 28% by 2025.
