GE Foundation Grants $5.3M to Cincinnati Public Schools

The GE Foundation announced today that it will donate $5.3 million to Cincinnati Public Schools.

The money is a three-year extension grant to help implement the Common Core State Standards goals each student must meet to ensure they are prepared for college, according to the news release.   “For our country to survive and thrive, our students must be competitive, mastering the rigorous content and higher-order thinking and leadership skill sets that are the hallmark of 21st century learning,” said Mary Ronan, superintendent of Cincinnati Public Schools, in the release. “Nowhere is this more important than in our urban core, where students historically have underperformed compared to their counterparts nationwide.”   To continue reading about the GE Foundation’s donation to education in Cincinnati, click here.     About GE
