DETROIT, August 4, 2023 /3BL/ - The Fifth Third Bank Financial Empowerment Mobile (eBus) will begin its tour in Eastern Michigan on August 5 and continue throughout the month of August. The purpose of the eBus is to provide financial empowerment resources to communities throughout our bank footprint. Through internal and external partnerships, the eBus serves as a mobile classroom offering individuals financial counseling on how to build wealth. Fifth Third’s eBus is open and free to the community with 20 dates and locations to choose from in Detroit, Dearborn Heights, Eastpointe, Flint, Monroe, Oak Park, Pontiac and Southfield, Michigan (full schedule and details below).

Fifth Third’s eBus (pictured above) is equipped with 12 desktop computer stations and Wi-Fi capabilities. Visitors to the eBus are greeted by Fifth Third Bank employee volunteers and community partner representatives when they arrive. They are assisted with reviewing credit reports and scores, one-on-one credit counseling, interactive financial education modules, homebuyer education tools, job search assistance, online account opening assistance, and loan referral services.

The Bank’s financial empowerment mobile is part of the Bank’s Lives Improved Through Financial Empowerment (L.I.F.E.) program and focuses on making a positive impact across its 10-state footprint in the areas of home mortgage, small business and community development lending and investments. More than half a million people have visited the eBus since 2004.

While onboard, visitors can:

  • Request a credit report and review it with a professional
  • Receive personalized evaluation of finances
  • Receive Internet Banking and Bill Payment demonstrations
  • Speak with non-profit organizations regarding housing, money management and business advice
