Family Adopts from Foster Care and Gets Shocking Surprise

More than 117,000 children in the United States don’t have the family they deserve. They are living in foster care, hoping to be adopted, hoping to have a safe, warm bed to come home to each night.

Every. Single. Foster Care Adoption Story is UNIQUE. The Walker Family has an incredibly special story about their son Ja’Kolby.

The Walker family met Ja’Kolby when he was placed with friends of theirs who were foster parents. He was 18 months old. They immediately felt connected to him, and began the process to become licensed foster parents so that they could adopt him. That's when they discovered that Ja'Kolby was a distant relative, and qualified for kinship placement. The Walkers officially adopted Ja’Kolby in December, 2016 and today he is a happy, healthy 4-year-old.
