Fair Trade Recipe: Numi Tea Cocktails

 In celebration of Fair Trade Month, we continue to share delicious and fun recipes that feature wonderful Fair Trade products and these cocktails are no exception. Created using Fair Trade Numi Tea, these drinks will inspire you to host a Fair Trade cocktail party of your own. Enjoy!

"I gave a party with drinks inspired by Numi's expertly crafted teas.  Their unique blends' pure flavors suggested pairings with fresh fruit, juices, spirits, and champagne.  As my guests talked about the health benefits of tea, a friend raised her cocktail and said, "This is what I call being good to myself!" -James Labe, Tea Sommelier   Grey Russian  “Afternoon tea was never like this! Earl Grey’s citrus notes amplified with Orange Vodka.”  1 1/2 oz. prepared Numi Early Grey Tea 1 1/2 oz. FAIR. Quinoa Vodka 1 tsp. of Fair Trade Certified honey   Steep tea at 4x normal strength for 2 minutes. Add honey and stir. Remove tea bag and chill liquid for later use. Combine and stir ingredients. Serve on the rocks, and garnish with an orange peel twist.   Berry Tea Royale "I felt like celebrating after having this fruity, bubbly concoction. The Cassis adds sweetness, the champagne—texture and crispness.” 1 oz. prepared Numi Black Tea 1 oz. Creme de Cassis 3 oz. Champagne   Steep tea at 4x normal strength for 2 minutes. Remove tea bag and chill liquid for later use. Pour chilled tea and Cassis into glass and stir. Tilt glass and slowly fill with Champagne. Serve without garnish.   Golden Chai Eggnog “The comfort food of the tea world meets the comfort food of the cocktail world.” 1 1/2 oz. prepared Numi Golden Chai Tea 1 1/2 oz. Brandy 3 oz. Milk 1 tsp. Fair Trade Certified Sugar 1 Egg Yolk   Steep tea at 4x normal strength for 2 minutes. Remove tea bag, stir in sugar, and chill liquid for later use. Pour liquid ingredients, plus one egg yolk per serving, into shaker with ice. Shake vigorously and strain into glass.
