Executive Leadership Changes Within the US Business Council for Sustainable Development
New Ideas for the Council's Equity Strategy
November 19, 2021 /3BL Media/ - The US Business Council for Sustainable Development (US BCSD) is pleased to announce the following changes within the Executive Committee that will further drive the organization to accomplish its new equity vision under the leadership of Claude Griffin, the new Executive Director.
The US BCSD welcomes Tarique J. Rashaud, Sustainability Finance Advisor, NRG Energy Inc., to the Executive Committee. Tarique’s contributions in the Gulf Coast Carbon Collaborative and as co-leader of the Electrification and Energy Transition Working Groups helped create a robust suite of decarbonization themes for the Gulf coast. He is a significant influencer in the equity program guiding engagements with minority-serving academic institutions and companies working on decarbonization in the Gulf region.
We welcome Dawn James, Director, US Sustainability and Environmental Sciences, Microsoft Corporation, to the Executive Committee. We look forward to her becoming a significant contributor to the overall direction of the organization.
And we embrace Rick Johnson, Director of Sustainability at Entergy, and current member of the Executive Committee, as Executive Committee chairman. In this role, Rick will work with other committee members and the executive director to guide the organization’s focus on emerging sustainability opportunities. Rick has been instrumental in the development and success of the Gulf Coast Carbon Collaborative from its inception and actively served on the Executive Committee. Rick is co-leader for the Hydrogen Working Group within the Gulf Coast Carbon Collaborative. The Collaborative provides cross-sector solutions to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the Gulf region.
We extend a huge thank you to Scott Tew, VP for Sustainability and ESG at Trane Technologies, for serving as Chair for the past five years. His leadership helped drive the US BCSD to achieve many key goals, all while he tackled new and expanded responsibilities at Trane Technologies. Scott will remain a member of the Executive Committee.
