Essity Invests in Production of Face Masks

To support society and health and elderly care, hygiene and health company Essity has acquired three new machines for large-scale production of face masks. With this investment, the Group will produce face masks in factories in Mexico, Sweden, and the US.

“The demand for face masks in the fight against COVID-19 is substantial and with this investment we hope to meet some of this demand. Contributing to society is one of our key priorities under the current circumstances,” says Donato Giorgio, President Global Manufacturing at Essity.  

When the machines are operational after summer, Essity’s priority will be able to provide face masks to health and elderly care and for internal use. 

Essity recently announced a redirected production in Sweden and the development of surgical masks for health and elderly care use.
