Earthx Faith Is Green Series Showcases Theological Perspectives on Conservation and Climate Change

DALLAS, February 19, 2021, /3BL Media/ - EarthxTV launches a new program bringing faith leaders together to share, discuss and debate perspectives on the environment, conservation and climate change.  Faith Is Green looks through the lens of various faith and belief systems to explore our environment from a theological perspective and aims to bring forward viewpoints often marginalized in environmental circles and inspire climate action from these unique religious standpoints.

How can we begin to explain the magic of creation? What was life like at the genesis of existence? Why would a higher power plague his kingdom with natural disaster? Will the day come when the world lives in harmony? It’s true that no one has all the answers, but on Faith is Green you’ll find everyone has their beliefs.

With many nations inching toward 2025 climate goals, climate discourse is more needed than ever. A forum like Faith is Green has the potential to reveal common ground and novel solutions. At this time of continued global health and environmental crisis, this EarthX program can provoke thought in a new way and help leaders find greater coordination of action.

The first of EarthX’s religious perspectives series brings varying religious traditions together to discuss faith-based care for the environment, the relationship of faith to science and the role faith communities play in energy development. A second series highlights Christian perspectives on stewardship and global warming. Additional series are forthcoming on EarthxTV.

Multifaith Perspectives Series

• Episode 1 - Caring for Creation Faith leaders including Reverend Mitchell Hescox, Imam Saffet Catovic and Rabbi David Saperstein come together to describe the theology behind why faith communities care for the environment.
• Episode 2 - Faith and Science Can religion and science be compatible? Faith-filled scientists, Dr. Jessica Moerman and Dr. Intan Suci Nurhati, share the connections they’ve found between their faith and their work.
• Episode 3 - Overcoming Energy Policy with Energy Prosperity Mark Victor Hansen and John Lyons discuss how faith communities are spearheading energy development, and thus empowering better healthcare, cleaner water, improved education and more.

• Episode 1 - The Landscape of Creation Care How should Christians approach the environment? Dr. Jerry Johnson, Professor E. David Cook, Dr. Jerry Johnson
  This program is an introduction to the landscape of “Creation Care.” With an overview of the current scene in the Christian world, it explores biblical, theological, historical, and
• Episode 2 -What Does the Bible Say About Environmental Stewardship?

  The program will dig down deep on Theology and Church History. What does the Bible actual teach on the topics above and how have theologians interpreted it throughout the history of the Church?
• Episode 3-The Greening of the Church - The program will explore how a local church can practice good environmental stewardship on their campus and their ministries. The goal of this program is to inspire viewers to go into their own community and church to make a difference.
• Episode 4 - Why Christians Have Heated Debates About Global Warming
  Dr. Jerry Johnson, Ms. Kelly Longfellow
  The program will be a dialogue (civil debate) between “skeptical” and “global warming” viewpoints
