Driving Safety Home at Norfolk Southern

Safety is Norfolk Southern’s No. 1 priority, and employee engagement and training are ongoing to reinforce safe behaviors in railroad workplaces. In 2015, NS’ craft employees participated in risk factor workshops that focused on a simple technique to recognize risks and avoid risky behaviors, called “pause, process, and proceed.”
As part of the company’s “i am Coming Home” safety program, NS in April drove home that message in a video posted on a company website used daily by operations employees.
