As the world’s largest and most broadly based healthcare company, Johnson & Johnson touches billions of lives every day with our products and services. We use the wide reach of our businesses to be a compassionate partner in all we do. We strive to improve healthcare access and value, create healthier communities, and leverage our employees’ talents to help bring good health within reach of all.
We believe that diversity and inclusion (D&I) are key drivers of our business success and our inaugural You Belong: Diversity & Inclusion Impact Review shares stories that demonstrate how our 140,000 employees are building and accelerating a culture of inclusion at Johnson & Johnson to better serve the needs of our patients, consumers, customers and key stakeholders. At Johnson & Johnson, D&I is about appreciating everyone’s unique perspective. It’s about bringing together all backgrounds, beliefs and the entire range of human experience—to create a deep sense of belonging for our employees that in turn enables us to change the trajectory of health for humanity.
In 2017, we launched a global D&I strategy that has enabled us to better understand the opportunities and challenges presented by our increasingly diverse world. We are focused on three strategic priorities to drive progress.
With our focus on these priorities, we are proud of the progress we’ve made in 2018. In this Review, there are inspiring stories of how we’re advancing our D&I mission by:
- Embedding D&I into our systems, processes and policies to help our people lead inclusively;
- Applying innovative strategies to diversify our workforce and better serve our patients, customers, consumers and communities;
- Connecting D&I more powerfully to our business strategies to achieve improved outcomes; and
- Sharing best practices with our strategic partners both inside and outside Johnson & Johnson, to help the world around us be more inclusive.
We hope these stories from our Johnson & Johnson employees around the world spark inspiration. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, but we know there is more work to do. We will be relentless in finding new and innovative ways to evolve our culture of inclusion, and we look forward to our continued partnership with patients, customers, consumers, employees and other key stakeholders to support us on this journey!
