Discovery Kids Launches ‘Kids en Acción’ Initiative in Colombia

Yesterday, Discovery Kids, a leader in children’s programming in Latin America, joined forces with the President’s office in Colombia and the Colombian Family Welfare Institute (ICBF) for Kids en Acción/Kids in Action, an initiative which seeks to support children and families adopting healthy habits, including regular physical activity and good nutrition. This week’s launch of Kids en Acción follows successful introductions in Mexico City and Buenos Aires last year.

“Kids en Acción is a campaign that reinforces our commitment and closeness with the Colombian audience, creating awareness with both children and parents about the importance of establishing habits that lead to healthy and balanced nutrition from an early age,z’ said Angela Recio Sondon, Vice President and Channel Director for Discovery Kids Latin America.

The campaign’s first phase includes on-air vignettes featuring characters from La Guarida Secreta inviting children to participate in physical activity and choose healthy foods. There will also be interstitials with Doki and friends urging children to play sports, yoga segments and the Toonies Yummy miniseries that teaches children to prepare fruits, vegetables and nuts. TuDiscoveryKids.com will also support the campaign with healthy recipes, lifestyle tips and much more.
