Deloitte Named a Top Ten Company for Multicultural Women in 2013 by Working Mother Magazine
Working Mother honors Deloitte for commitment to diversity for eighth consecutive year
NEW YORK, May 31, 2013 /3BL Media/ -- For the eighth consecutive year, Working Mother magazine has named Deloitte one of the top ten employers in the United States for multicultural women. The ranking, now in its 11th year, recognizes 25 U.S. organizations based on representation; hiring, attrition and promotion rates; recruitment, retention and advancement; and company culture.
"At Deloitte we believe our ability to attract, develop, and offer opportunity to multicultural women is an essential part of growing as an organization," said Deb DeHaas , chief inclusion officer, Deloitte LLP. "We draw strength from diversity through valued perspectives that help us to learn from each other, better serve our clients and deliver superior value in an increasingly diverse and competitive marketplace. That's why Deloitte encourages and nurtures an inclusive culture where all leaders thrive."
In supporting its multicultural women, Deloitte employs formal leadership development programs that offer strategic assignments and career sponsorship. These include the Emerging Leaders Development Program which prepares high-performing minority managers and senior managers for the next stage in their careers. Working individually with a career coach, participants define goals, create career plans and develop strategies to execute them. Each is paired with an internal Deloitte sponsor who serves as an advocate to help participants get to the next step in their careers.
Additionally, the recently launched Deloitte University Leadership Center for Inclusion serves to advance the dialogue on inclusion through activities with Deloitte professionals, clients, and thought leaders.
"The Best Companies for Multicultural Women know that a truly diverse workforce is a critical element in creating an effective team that understands and delivers value to its clients. Grooming female leaders has become a crucial mandate, and great organizations like Deloitte are simultaneously weaving diversity into their culture," said Carol Evans , president of Working Mother Media.
In addition to the "2013 Working Mother Top Companies for Multicultural Women" list, Deloitte has been recognized for its record of diversity and inclusion by other organizations, including:
- 2013 DiversityInc's Top 50 Companies for Diversity; on list for the 10th year
