Cox Enterprises Reaches 1,000 Ton Recycling Milestone at HQ Campus
Waste reduction core focus area of Cox Conserves sustainability program
Atlanta, July 1, 2015 /3BL Media/ - Cox Enterprises’ comprehensive Atlanta headquarters recycling program has led to more than 1,000 tons of materials being reused or diverted from landfills since 2006. Additionally, the company has composted more than 20 tons of food waste and materials from a campus cafeteria since 2014 – resulting in nearly a 75 percent diversion rate.
“Waste reduction is a visible way to show our commitment to sustainable business practices. It also directly engages our employees,” said Cox Enterprises Senior Vice President of Finance Lacey Lewis, who oversees the company’s sustainability operations.
Cox Enterprises has a goal to send zero waste to landfill by 2024. The company’s approach to recycling is a holistic one that employs three strategies: waste reduction, strategic partnerships for e-waste and engagement with customers and employees.
The company’s e-waste program provides ways to extend equipment life cycles, ensure sustainable disposal and promote re-use through redeployment, remarketing and charitable donation.
Cox Enterprises has waste reduction programs at locations across the nation.
