Coronavirus: Connecting to Online Educational Resources for Children

As most school districts across the U.S. are closed indefinitely, parents and teachers are looking for options to keep students engaged in learning. Education partners from both the JetBlue Foundation and our award winning Soar with Reading initiative have provided free tools and tips for schools, teachers, and students in the areas of STEM and Literacy. Online Learning Tools

• Search for your local library online for information on how to connect to their catalogue of free downloadable eBooks.
• Science Buddies offers fun hands-on STEM activities. Materials are easy to find, most activities take an hour or less and the STEM learning is limitless.
• The Ultimate STEM Guide for Kids includes 239 cool cites focused on STEM.
• New York Hall of Science at-home resources encourage open-ended exploration, imaginative learning, personal relevance, deep engagement and delight for all age ranges.
• Hiller Aviation Museum Hiller at Home is where families can explore the world of flight from the comfort of your own home!
• Museum of Discovery and Science – Scientastic Discovery in the Comfort of Your Home offers access to high-quality award-winning documentary films for viewing on streaming platforms.
• Orlando Science Center has compiled a list of activities and resources to help make the most of your time with the ultimate playlist for curious minds.
• First Book offers free at-home activities for Pre-k through 8th Grade in both English and Spanish.
• Candlewick Press resource guide is filled with downloadable links to information, fun things to do, and more!
• Scholastic has launched Learn at Home a website that has daily courses for students from Pre-kindergarten to grades 6 and higher. The website is accessible on any device that has internet and no sign up is required.
