Conflict Minerals Burden Survey Stirs CSR
Tulane University has released a new survey for Conflict Minerals as a follow up to their previous October 2011 economic analysis study, regarding the execution of mandatory federal law, Dodd-Frank SEC 1502 Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. The survey revealed the stifling economic costs from the implementation of Dodd-Frank at $7.93 billion, a severe underestimation by U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) who originally quoted $71.2 million.
Tulane is now following up on their initial survey with “Survey of Corporate Efforts and Resources Utilized to Comply with Dodd-Frank Section 1502” addressing the complications industry leaders are now facing and how to take action with proactive solutions.
The challenges corporations are grappling with Conflict Minerals are enigmatic and daunting with a lack of direction on how to properly report and comply. Chris Buyer of Tulane University, who produced both surveys will be speaking at the Global Conflict Minerals Symposium offering detailed insight for industry leaders. He will be presenting the latest survey findings at Global Conflict Minerals Symposium.
The Symposium coincides with the 1-year anniversary promulgation date of the Dodd-Frank Section 1502 Conflict Minerals Final Rule.
