Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative Urges More Companies To Become Members
The Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative (CFSI) is petitioning more companies to join the effort to become conflict-free by becoming CFSI members. The group is made up of 120 companies from 7 industries and their goal is to help members make informed choices about conflict minerals in their supply chains. One of their greatest challenges in the upcoming year is to help members meet their reporting deadline related to the U.S. conflict minerals regulation.
The CFSI is beneficial to companies because they provide their members with a range of tools and resources. Some of these include the Conflict-Free Smelter Program and a template for conflict minerals reporting which ensures consistent sourcing data. They also run workshops on conflict minerals issues that are available to all members.
Membership is available to any company that uses or transacts in tin, tantalum, tungsten or gold.
Many of the members of CFSI have also contracted a third party to help them complete their report. One of these companies is Source Intelligence, who specialize in providing supply chain facing data collection, analytics and reporting services. They combine a proprietary technology platform with professional managed services to help clients address regulatory compliance, CSR and sustainability initiatives.
This Wednesday, January 22, 2014 10:00 AM - 10:45 AM PST, they will be hosting a web-based 'open house' demonstration of their platform. To register click HERE.
