Comcast NBCUniversal Moves Up 10 Spots to No. 19 on DiversityInc’s Top 50 Companies List
We are pleased to announce that Comcast NBCUniversal ranked No. 19 on DiversityInc’s 2017 Top 50 Companies for Diversity list, up 10 spots from No. 29 in 2016, and up 30 spots in just four years.
DiversityInc attributes this jump to the increasing diversity of our leadership, including the ethnic diversity of our Board of Directors, and strong promotion rates for Latinos into management roles. We were also recognized for our robust Supplier Diversity program, which not only expands opportunities for diverse-owned businesses in our supply chain, but also encourages our vendors to bring on diverse subcontractors through our Tier II program.
Comcast NBCUniversal also ranked on three of DiversityInc’s 2017 specialty lists:
- Supplier Diversity: We held our place at No. 5 of 11 on the 2017 Supplier Diversity Specialty List.
- People with Disabilities: We also remained at No. 4 of 12 on the 2017 People with Disabilities Specialty List.
- LGBT Employees: For the first time this year, we appeared on the LGBT Employees Specialty List (this list is not ranked).
"We are proud of the continued progress we’ve made to embed diversity in all aspects of our business," said David L. Cohen, Senior Executive Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer. "Through the diverse talents of our workforce, strength of our diverse suppliers, originality of our programming, and breadth of our community investments, diversity and inclusion are part of the DNA of our company."
